The Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg Nations of Alderville, Curve Lake, Hiawatha, and Scugog Island First
Nations acknowledge the announcement from the provincial and federal governments regarding their
equity investment in Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Darlington New Nuclear Project.

As Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg Nations of the Williams Treaties First Nations, our ancestral and treaty
lands include the site of this project. We recognize the significance of this development and the
importance of ensuring that our Nations’ voices and interests are meaningfully included as it moves
forward.

Our Nations are committed to ensuring that the project honours our rights, protects the land and waters,
and creates lasting participation and opportunity for our people – economically, environmentally, and
culturally.

Our leadership continues to work collaboratively with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to advance a
long-term partnership that delivers sustainable benefits for our communities and future generations,
grounded in mutual respect, recognition, and shared prosperity. To support this work, the Nations have
jointly appointed a dedicated negotiator to lead ongoing discussions with OPG on behalf of our collective
communities.

Together, the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg Nations of the Williams Treaties First Nations and OPG are
building a model of partnership and reconciliation that shows how clean energy development can move
forward responsibly while honouring our ancestral lands, Shkagamik-Kwe (Mother Earth), and the
generations to come.

We will continue to share updates on this and other projects within our ancestral lands to ensure our
communities remain informed and engaged throughout the process.
