Hiawatha First Nation Fire Service

  • Part of Otonabee-South Monaghan Volunteer Fire Department
  • 20 volunteer personnel
  • Members are trained Firefighters, trained ice/water rescue, and include a certified Paramedic
  • All certified in First Aid, CPR, and Automatic External Defibrillator use
  • Our newly constructed Emergency Services Building houses a fully equipped Rescue Vehicle, a Pumper/Tanker truck, 2nd pumper truck and the police vehicle
  • Decontamination area, training/meeting room, kitchenette, office space, showers and laundry facilities are all part of this state of the art building
  • At this location there is also an underground water storage tank for an easily accessible water supply in the case of a fire
